Can Information on the internet be both reliable and accessible?

Place to find reliable information on the internet?

• I have to do a research assignment for english over the "Mark of Cain" from the Bible. I already know the whole story, but I'm required to research it from various websites that are worthy and legitimate, and things I can cite with MLA citations. At school we were supposed to use the Gale Database to find all our information, but that only yielded books, magazines and other irrelevant stuff. Google is no help either. If I type in mark of cain into the search, I get tattoo parlors and punk bands. And when I actually get something on the Biblical story, it comes from the website of a church which I can't really use. If you know any good website for information on this or any database or other search place where I could possibly look this up with better accuracy, it would be appreciated
