Why do my eyes tear for no reason?

Why does my eye vision become momentarily better when my eye produces tear?

  • My eye vision is not good for my age (18). I can see things that are close, but things that are far becomes extremely blurry. However, I realize that my far sight becomes focused to the point where I can even see someone's eyes from a distance when my eyes tear up a little (those tears have to be at a certain position in my eye in order for my short vision enhancement). If anyone with knowledge on this subject can suggest a cause or reason I will be grateful.

  • Answer:

Several other people on here have reported this same phenomenon, either from tears or just getting out of a pool, etc. I suspect, under certain conditions, the film of water on the cornea temporarily acts sort of like a contact lens.
