Should I cover up my stupid name tattoo or get it removed?
-
After I got divorced, I started dating this guy that was very social and crazy and we always had so much fun. I felt free from my unhappy marriage and did some partying and had fun (I'm only 24 and never had fun). I had a momentary lapse in judgement and got his name tattooed on my upper left back. (I was sober.) I broke up with him and now I feel retarded (because I am). The tattoo is thin lines, about 4 inches long and two inches high (4 letter name, black ink). My new boyfriend and a lot of people say it will be really easy to cover. How hard is it to remove it? Painful? Expensive? Effective? Someone told me their sister had one that she removed by using a tattoo gun and tracing over it a few times with lemon juice instead of ink. Help me please! Should I cover it or get it removed?

Answer:
Go to a good tattoo shop and ask how well they could cover it up. If they can't fix it, you could go for removal. When it comes to tattoos, professional advice is the only good kind. Tattoo removal is both expensive and painful...and lemon juice won't do it, lol.

Rather than compounding the problem of one bad tattoo by adding yet another you may also regret, I think you should have the name removed and return to a fresh slate. P.S. If lemon juice worked Sunkist stock would be way, way up.

Removing tattoos like your friend is not a good idea. To get it removed the right way is pretty expensive. But a good tattoo artist should be able to cover up anything very easily.

the lemon juice only works if its not very dark and you have to go over it numerous times. covering it up would be better by FAR!!! also.... never, and i say again, NEVER get names tattooed on you unless it's your kids or even a memorial tat for a very very close friend or family member who died. my fiance and i absolutely refuse to tattoo any ones bf, gf, husband, wife's name on them, it is bad luck. a cover up for that would be very easy to do, much less painful, cheaper, and wouldn't leave any scars. that's what i would recommend. (Also, it would be easier to determine how hard it would be to remove or cover up if you had a pic of it.)
