How can I become a movie director?

How can i become a script writer or movie director? is there a chance?

  • Answer:

Hi Brittany, The Director is without a doubt not only a person who tells the story, but also one who fully understands why the story must be told and the manner in which it should be presented. A Director may or may not write the screenplay but certainly visualizes it, controlling the film's artistic and dramatic aspects while guiding the technical crew and actors in the fulfillment of the vision. To begin with you need to have a degree 10+2 or equivalent. To be a Director you should then register yourself in a Film School where they teach you all the nuances of Direction at it's very core as it will give you a great platform to launch your career. Would it be hard? Is that a serious question? You sound like a tough nut to crack, you don't seem to know anything about movies or film making, I guess I can't expect you to know any better since your a girl. You should learn how other successful filmmakers got to make movies instead of posting questions here. Yes, it's hard. You'll probably have to go to some film school, and to make an actual movie, you have to have a crew of people (Camera men, sound department, Lighting department, key grip, etc) and you'll need to start an audition for your actors, and I think you'll need a production company to use your movie (If I'm not mistaking) Making a movie doesn't happen in a day, it can take years. You should probably read about this stuff.
