Ramadan, Ali (ra) is equal to Prophet Muhammad (pbuh)......?

  Do you know what the problem is? Most of you don't actually understand what Shia says!! Shia (rightly) believes that the path of the Ahlu-lbayt is EXACTLY the path of the Prophet (Salla'llaho Alayhe Wwa Aale), nothing less, nothing more! We believe (with every cell in our bodies) that should the Prophet (SAWA) be alive right now, he would have told us to follow the path of the Ahlu'lbayt! We believe this is the path of Islam, the path that the Prophet (SAWA) has set for us on behalf of Allah and we have MANY proof for it! So if we say it's the greatest path, it's because we believe it to be THE path of the Prophet (SAWA) not because (al'ayazo bi'llah) we believe that Ali (AS) and his children (AS) are higher than the Prophet (SAWA). We believe Ali (AS) to be the best man and Muslim AFTER the Prophet (SAWA)! We believe that the Prophet (SAWA) has said many times: "The dignity of Ali to me is like the dignity of Aaron to Moses (Alaihema 'Ssalaam), except that he (Ali) is not the prophet after me". And as for the last Hadith you have said, I haven't seen/heard it myself but can still explain it very easily!! First we (rightly) believe the Hadith of Thaqalayn to say that the Thaqalayn are "The Quran & The Ahlu-lbayt" (this can be found in your own books too, see thereferencess of http://www.al-islam.org/real/18.htm ). Second, the Quran precisely confirms this Hadith in Aya 3:61. The sha'no nozul of this Aya is where the Prophet (SAWA) tells the Nasaari that each side should bring "their sons, their women and themselves" and they should ask God to curse the side which is wrong in their beliefs. At this event the Prophet brings with himself "The Hassanain (Hassan and Hussein (AS)) as his sons, Fatima (SA) as his women and Ali (AS) as his self!!" . So in the Quran, Ali (AS) is known as the "nafs" of Nabi (SAWA)!! Alhamdo'li'llah our beliefs have such firm foundations that there is no need to lie or run from the truth! @ rainbow: Shia doesn't believe in lying! If you're referring to Taqqia, it means hiding the truth and is only allowed in places where your life (or the life of another Muslim) is at risk, not whenever you feel like it.
