How can i fix a computer after spraying too much glass cleaner on it?
-
I was trying to clean off my laptop keyboard and screen with a little glass cleaner. Then, this morning I go to turn my Toshiba computer on, and when the page comes up for me to type into my password to access my homepage, the internet, etc. nothing happens! It wont let me type anything. I can type the numbers and use Num Lock. I tried everything! I took off a couple keys and found no glass cleaner liquid. I looked up online on someone else's computer (using it now) and it said not to use a blowdryer or not to dry it out, not to turn it on,etc. Well, this might sound crazy, but I used my leaf blower to try to dry the glass cleaner out of it, and that didn't make a difference. I have it sitting upside down with the keyboard still in the computer sitting on a papertowel. I heard some people put their entire laptop in the dishwasher and it stilll works for them. What can I do to fix my laptop without doing anything too risky? I already tried taking out the keys, and that didn't seem to work. I can't afford to take it into a shop or to buy a new keyboard. I have already tried looking at the battery of my laptop too. What can I do?! I'm so desperate to fix my laptop's keyboard. If someone can answer me right away, I will be very grateful. I need my laptop for school. Please give me the most easiest way to fix it.

Answer:
If you put your laptop in the dishwasher, you may as well just throw it in the garbage - don't do it! Window cleaners contain detergents which are harmful to electronics, which is why most computer manufacturers advise against using harsh cleaners on their products. If you can't afford the take the computer to a professional to have it cleaned properly, go to Radio Shack and buy a spray can of contact cleaner. Use it sparingly around each of the keys, and your computer might work again.

I am a developer at Microsoft so I know a thing or two about computers. The best PC cleaner and antivirus program is PC Health Boost, it's very light and it's the only antivirus/cleaner with a 99.99% detection rate. It's also a PC booster so your computer will be running faster than nomal. Download it here for free: http://www.pcboostsoftware.com
