How to break a bad sleeping habit?

lately i haven't been able to sleep, my family went away from the break and i was completely jet lagged at first but then i became accustom to the sleeping habits, we got back last sunday and ever since i find it very hard to wake up in the morning i've been into school late about 3 times at like 11:47 ishh and the other times i just didn't go because by the time i got up it was around 1:30 and school was ending soon anyways. this week i want to end my bad sleeping habits and need to go to bed by at least 12 so can you please answer before than. THHANKS :D p.s. i dont have sleeping pills or any kind of medication soo i just need ways to fall asleep kinda, but before someone says 'clear your mind and take deep breathes' i should say that (although this may sound strange) before i sleep i pick a topic to dream about whether is be a cute guy i like or just something random like being 26, and after i fall asleep my dream carries on and usually my biggest problem is if i think to hard my dream becomes choppy, which enables me too fall asleep. what i mean by choppy is, its not in colour or theres a transparent image overlaying of something i saw on t.v. or a video or just something i seen that day or the angle i am seeing the person from is off... (i see my dreams as movies kinda i can controll thhe 'camera view' of things so i can point from someone's face to their shoes, but sometimes i have no control over were the 'camera view' points and i cant fall asleep) this may be kinda confusing.... but i just thought id

You have to train your brain. It's called a "circadian schedule." You'll be tired the first few days, but it'll be worth it. Set an alarm clock across the room so you have to get out of bed to turn it off. Set is for, say, 8am. Do not get back into that bed! Take a shower, eat a pop tart, whatever you like to do. The bed is only for sleeping. Not for watching TV, reading, or PC. Then at 11pm, go to bed. (You make your own schedule, of course.) This has been known to help insomniacs for decades. You can Google "circadian" if you want to do the research. If you really want the help, here it is. The vitamin, melatonin, should help a little too. People swear it helps them fall asleep. Oh!
