When going down a half pipe how fast are you going?

How much would it cost to replace the pipe going from my exhaust manifold to mu catalytic converter?

  • So i have a Geo storm that i bought recently and the pipe going from the exhaust manifold to the catalytic converter was hanging pretty low but it wasn't really hanging because was attached firmly to the exhaust manifold. So i was driving over some train tracks and that pipe hit pretty hard but I just kept driving but then I heard something dragging along and then something fell off. I go and check it out and the piece that connects that pipe to the exhaust manifold fell off and I was wondering how much of would cost to fix it? If you need me to post any pictures just let me know.

    If you know how to replace it when the cost would be the price of the pipe lost.If you take it to a muffler shop they may find other items that need replace or repaired & they would determine the cost.

If it is just the down pipe from the manifold to the cat it shouldnt be that much money from a local parts store. You may be looking at replacing a gasket also (some cars have a rubber gasket on the manifold, some dont, not sure about yours). What you need to check is if the flange on the manifold is broken or damaged. Thats where the money comes in.
