What is the difference between filmmaking and digital filmmaking?

I need help with the reasons why I want to pursue Digital Filmmaking and video production at the Art Institute?

• I have to write an essay to get accepted into the art institute. I am having trouble writing the first paragraph. I'm not a very good writer and it's hard to express myself in writing. It asks "Why have you chosen to study digital filmmaking and video production?" Here's what I wrote... I’ve always been passionate about the history of our world, the life on earth and the mysteries our earth holds but we have yet to discover. A career that would allow me to discover these mysteries and to share all of this with the world would satisfy me for a lifetime. But to catch this on film and to be a part of making the way people see our world and the life in it on camera would be beyond my dreams. This is why I have chosen to pursue a career in digital filmmaking and video production. Are there any words that don't fit, or ways that I can expand it or just make the writing better? I need help all around...

  And I would run with that idea. "Some people are good with words. Some people are good with music. Some people are good with fashion. I am good with a camera. Perhaps I may not be able to tell you what I want, what I feel, what I believe in, but I can show it to you. I can present my vision that can be both immediately grasped and emotionally felt, but even those with a gift still need to hone their craft." Or something like that
