How do you get a full ride scholarship?

How to get a full ride scholarship?

  • I'm currently a freshman in highschool and im beginning to think about college. I don't think i'll be able to afford college unless I get some type of scholarship. I have a 4.65 GPA right now and I was wondering if I keep that up, or improve, will I be able to get scholarships or assistance from universities? Also, im not a member of any clubs. Do I have to join any? Can you please give me examples of what I can do to get scholarships because I want to prepare early ? :) thank you.

  • Answer:

Full-ride scholarships are very competitive and most colleges give out 1-10 total each year. These will be offered to the most academically gifted students or star athletes. I would not place all your hopes on a full-ride scholarship, but instead encourage you to find other smaller awards to help cover the costs of your tuition and fees. Here are some places to start your search: Check with your guidance counselor for local opportunities Check with the financial aid office at the colleges you are considering (most have web pages that list available scholarships) Check with employers (yours and your parents), churches, civic and non-profit groups or anywhere you have volunteered Use several free online search services to locate private awards for college, such as ScholarshipExperts.com (rated best by Forbes), Collegeboard.org and Schoolsoup.com

4.65 impressive gpa. Your definetely going to want to maintain your gpa and I would like to question how it is even possible that you could have a 4.65 gpa in high school freshman year. Please explain in add more information section. Anyway, focus on maintaining that gpa and scoring well above a 2200 on the sat's and that should do it. I think however you need to be involved in extraciricular activities. Also, the year before you apply in the summer get full time or part time summer job. And get at least 100 hours of volunteer hours on your resume. Full ride scholarships are granted to you automatically, I believe. Good luck! and please explain.. Well, then your gpa isnt that impressive. WOrk on your gpa it needs to be at least 5.0. I thought ur gpa was out of 4.0
