Does the Linux Professional Institute Certification (LPIC) program have an advantage in trying to find a job?

Trying to find a good certification for a job?

  • I'm a college student looking for a job that will pay more than minimum wage with a short certification; it would also be helpful if the industry is actually growing and there are actual job prospects. The only thing I can think of is a personal training certification. Any other ideas would be helpful; ideally something that will take 1-6 months, mostly online and affordable. I'm not too worried about difficulty/rigor, I just need some ideas! I also have about 3-4 months this summer which I could dedicate to this; I have good knowledge in the automotive and fitness industries.

A good place to start would be your local vocation/tech school. You may have to do some labor market studies to get more bang for your buck.
