Scope of java and .net?

Do you prefer Mac or a PC? Ford or a Chevy? Windows or Linux? Both java and .Net have strong and passionate followers. Both of them are good languages to learn. Both of them can provide a good career. Which do you find easier? Pick up a book and do a few exercises in each language. Truth be known, you can always learn one and then pick up the other down the road. Personally, I would choose .Net because all of our development is done in .Net - but I know that Java has positives, too.
