How Can I Watch HBO Shows Without a Subscription?

I recently became obsessed with a few HBO series and don't have a subscription to HBO because my boyfriend is too frugal to sign us up for one. So, I was wondering if there was anyway I could buy episodes of the shows or whatever to watch them. I know I can sign into HBO and watch episodes online... with my HBO subscription information. I tried hulu but they only provide links to HBO's website. I don't want to do this illegally though. I was just curious if anyone knew a way. I have just been buying the DVDs up until this point and now I'd like to watch the shows during the seasons... Is this just a completely impossible task?

iTunes might have them the day after they premiere. But if not you'll have to either download them or wait for them to be released on DVD
