Help me with a holiday around America.?
-
Me and my friend are both 15 at the moment and when we're like 19/20 we want to go on a tour around the border of America from like Washington, to california, all the popular places in that (e.g- LA, San Francisco, San Diego etc..) then move across the bottom to Florida then up to New York & chicago etc.. we're thinking of going and hiring a 'hippy van' to live in for like 6 months (however long it takes) but we know we're going to have to plan it all out alot- where we're going to stay each night, money for food & petrol blahblahblah but we were just asking for any help?! like where to go from where to where cause we cant find a proper map of America from where to go to where and like we want to go to Hollywood, and all the other popular places where like films and that have been made (cause we both want to be acresses when we're older, we would only spend like 2 days in each place... & oh yeah we live in England so we'd have to get a plane over to Washington to start with :D <3 So umn yeah...any help from anyone would be greatly appreciated! Thankyou!<3

Answer:
Well I guess I would first start with finding out which states border the country/which states I would like to visit. Then I would search them individually to find out what I would like to do in each one. Then figure out how long I would need to stay in each state to see all of these different things. Some states are going to take longer than others. So make sure you plan enough time to see everything at a comfortable rate, so you don't miss anything, and so you don't have to race through it all. The states that border America are: Washington Oregon California Arizona New Mexico Texas Louisiana Mississippi Alabama Georgia Florida South Carolina North Carolina West Virginia Washington D. C. New England which has Vermont, New York, New Jersey, Connecticut, Rhode Island, ect. Ohio Michigan Wisconsin Minnesota North Dakota Montana Idaho I hope this helps, and good luck.

Start in London, go up to York, then to Edinburgh, then Glasgow, then to Liverpool, down to Cardiff, then to Bristol and then your.........oh wait, I'm British not American. Why don't you put this in the United States of America section.... Or is that a bit advance for you? Dumb troll.
There are so many "proper" maps of the USA that I cannot believe you cannot find what you are looking for. Use the internet and google each state. Starting out from Washington is back-asswards. The closest states to the UK are those on the eastern seaboard so it would make more sense to start there rather than flying an additional 3000 miles to Washington. Start in New York, work your way south, then west across, as you say "the bottom", then up the west coast. From Washington take a right and head across "the top" ending up in the northeast. Then come back down the east coast and leave for your return trip to the UK from New York. It's a great plan, but you need to do some serious research first.

You have to be 25 years old to rent a vehicle in America first off. So that option won't work unless you are even older. Why not order a USA road map online & go from there. It will have all the states and show where the major roads are. You may be better taking a bus or train though if you go when you are younger. And many of the boarder states don't have many interesting things to see in them. (California, Arizona, Florida, DC, New England, New York... but not a lot of other states are as popular to British tourists. And some of the land locked states have more interesting things there. So you may be better off choosing the few places you want to see and building a trip around that.
