Why is my sims 3 running so slow?

  • So I have had Sims 3 installed and no problems at all until the other day it randomly starting running majorly slow. Will only run for about 10 seconds then crash where time won't be going but the objects in the world still sway as if it is playing. As my sim is asleep atm, it has taken me hours just to get past midnight. It is becoming impossible to play. More annoyed that it was working perfectly a few days ago. Can anybody help?!

    What kind of graphics card do you have? And what is your CPU speed? --- It's possible your GPU may have overheated and was damaged, if it was working for you earlier I really don't know what else to say. And yeah - do a disc clean up/defrag, etc. and see if that helps. Also, don't bother playing Sims on a PS3 or 360, it's sooo much better on PC.
