How do you find out what your vocal range is?
-
I know this is a common question, but I really want to find out what my vocal range is. I can't get a vocal teacher/instructor, I've never really taken any singing classes. I'll give you as much information as I can: I can sing some low notes, but not as low as Michael Buble Feeling Good (if I do, I have to start high then make my way to low). I can't really say about high notes (in an apartment, can't go all-loud or neighbors get mad) but I can sing like Christina Aguilera's Hurt and Kelly Clarkson's Because of You. Middle, I think I do pretty well.

Answer:
This isn't really descriptive enough to know what your vocal range is. By the way, those songs that you mentioned in the description don't have very high notes... This is a horrible suggestion because it's just a very rough estimate, but go on YouTube and look for videos to help you find your vocal range. At least you'll have an idea then. It's best if you ask a vocal coach or choir director, but I guess this might work... Good luck!

You are probably a mezzo-soprano. I sing somewhere between mezzo-soprano and alto, and you sound very similar to me. However, if you can sing "Because of You," then you would be less of an alto and definitely a mezzo-soprano.

you are a 2nd soprano not to high not to low
