How to know if your ingrown toenail is getting better?

Ingrown toenail....again - any suggestions? :(?

  • so about 2 years ago i went to the hospital because i had an ingrown toenail on my right foot, big toe, they removed my whole nail then it grew back and now it keeps doing the same thing. i've been able to clip the part that keeps growing into my toe but im getting so tired of it and it hurts to do it and all that. i dont know what to do, i dont want to keep going to the hospitall for that. is there anything i can do? or that doctors can do to prevent it from growing in againn and again?

    I also thought I had an ingrown toenail. I went to a podiatrist who told me that Doctors don't really deal with them correctly. I was in a lot of pain days earlier and on antibiotics, eventually to skin burst. Podiatrist said infect the infection was not caused by the toenail growing, but by the build up under the corners of the toenail, causing pain and infection.

When you trim it, trim it with square edges not round. I get ingrown toenails that curl over into my toe but you just have to maintain them properly. Just keep trimming it, it should be ok.
