Where can I get a durable vinyl sticker?

Silkscreen printing onto glossy vinyl sticker paper?

  • Hello, Ive got everything else sorted to screen print onto gloss vinyl stickers with UV emulsion on the screen printer. Does anyone know a good make of paint/ink that will stick to the gloss vinyl sticker paper I will be printing on to. Anything that will be permanent on the glossy paper. If anyone knows of a brand and where I can get it from in the UK would be much appreciated. Thanks

That's a tough one. I print mainly on somerset sheets, so I don't have to deal with this problem in my work. Many screen inks will turn almost plastic-like after hardening, and it can be a problem since they might peel off from glossy papers like that. That being said, UV-based inks are much more resistant than regular water-based screen inks. Most should still be okay with the glossy paper, as long as you make sure they are cured properly. As for brands, I live in North America so they will be different from what I have available here. Try finding a shop that mixes their own inks from pigments. They can usually adjust the inks for your needs and although slightly expensive, these shops have things you can't find in regular stores! These types of shops are around, you just have to find them, they're usually small so the name isn't very common, but the stock they have is great! G
