Is OnDemand free with a Comcast Cable Box?

Can a comcast cable box act as a converter for component cables to hdmi for a ps2?

  • as most ps2 owners by now know, ps2's dont get along well with HDTV's. ive heard using component cables (the type that splits into 5 connectors) helps quite a bit to make ps2 games look better on HDTVs. sadly, my tv doesn't have connections for this kind of cable. however, the new cable box i got from comcast does. it's a HD cable box that connects to the tv by HDMI cable rather than coaxal like the SD cable box i accidentally got before did. on the back of this cable box there are ports for the component cables. ive heard that all of the connectors on the back are out only, with the exception of the coaxal tv cable from the wall being the only in. however this was something i was told by someone on the internet, so im not 100% sure of it... it may have been true for the last one, but this cable box, being that it has ports for the component cables, makes me wonder. dont component cables split from a single source? as in... if there's 5 connectors for component cables, wouldn't that definitely be in, since it uses a single source as its out? i believe this box allows for an auxillary hookup. if i got a ps2 component cable, and hooked it up to the cable box, would it convert the signal to HDMI and make my ps2 games playable again, instead of being blurry and weird? or would i need a tv that allows for hooking it up directly, or some kind of other converter that can connect to my tv, such as component to VGA?

I answered this question Once before Most cable Boxes do not Have inputs and even if they Do it is most likely not active, as in it won't work The cable company would have to activate it( and they probably won't). In Fact most of the Outputs on the back Don't work Either such as the Firewire, Ethernet, usb They are most of the time not working. If your cable box has an component input then plug it in and see if it works. But again It would most likely be inactive. You could also Try calling your cable company and see what They tell you.

Nope. At best its aux input is composite. Its component is output. You need a component to HDMI converter box.
