Whats the main diffrence between pintail longboard and kick tail?

  • Whats the main diffrence between pintail longboard and kick tail? I was looking into a pintail cause Iv been riding by friends around but he wants it back now and i was looking online and i found a decent price on a kicktail so just wondering whats the main diffrence? besides the obvious kick out in back? whats purpose of kicktail?

Pin tail allows for more movement of the trucks thus carving ability. The kicktail is for jamming and maneuvers but, due to the board, it limits the truck travel and not too ideal for carving the streets. When the truck hit the bottom of the board, it comes to stop while you go flying! Ouch!

Look on the SilverfishLongboarding forum. Its the only reliable source of longboarding info.. All those other pages are full of fake garbage... Longboard functionality comes from a lot more factors than just a kicktail. Flex, length, width, concave, etc.
