How can i learn to play blues guitar?

I'd suggest watch a lot of videos and concerts if you get the opportunity. Listen to as much of the blues as you can. Then when you feel like you got the sound in you pretty good try to start playing along with some cd's. Play along with the radio if you have a station in your area that plays the blues. Try to find other guitarists that play the blues and hook up with them to show you some stuff. Books are great and you can learn a lot. But don't short change yourself and miss out on listening and the experience of trying to follow along and pick things up by listening and playing along with cd's. Tons of stuff on Youtube can be very helpful. Good luck and have fun.

I don't know of any books. I just take what I know about music theory and rely on my ear and my large collection of Jimmy McGriff. ---------------- The Absolute best thing to start doing right Now is to LISTEN to Blues EVERYDAY. All day. Strangely, I encounter a lot of people who neglect that simple principle. They never listen to Blues and expect tabs to teach them how to play like Muddy Waters. It will Never happen like that. If you can distinguish the difference between 2 notes, you should NEVER need tabs. --------------------------------------… Getting a teacher is the easiest way to Improve.

There are a lot of things you can ask yourself about what is going on. I also recommend you get yourself a teacher... one that specializes in blues too.
