How to become a financial analyst?

Answer:
You can become a financial analyst with degrees in Math, Finance, Accounting, Economics, and sometimes others, but the ones I listed are the best. I would go with Finance or Accounting, and a dual degree in both looks very good to employers. Financial Analyst is a very broad term and the specific courses you should take depends on the industry, but it's very difficult to know which industry you'll be working in so take what interests you. When I was an undergrad I wanted to work as an Analyst for a large equity investments firm but landed a job at a Real Estate Investment Bank. You must have a Bachelor's degree before you start the masters (MBA usually) program. The Bachelor's degree will get you in the door and most employers will pay or help pay for your MBA. An MBA is nice to have, but it's not as necessary as it used to be because it feels as though almost everyone these days has one. Being a financial analyst is a very demanding job but it is also very rewarding. The money is not too shabby either.

financing has to do with math, are you super good at math? You can get where you want to go with a degree in business. so get your (bachelor degree) BS in business. After you work a few years you can get a masters degree (MBA) if you feel your income would pay for that kind of schooling. Some people need it and other people don't need it. You'll know it if there's room to move up where you work or if higher up positions are open to you, and your boss might suggest that you get that MBA if they like you and may even help you pay for it. Financial analyst could be demanding if your boss is standing over you wanting those figures pronto and you can't produce fast enough. This is why a person works their way up, and gets the appropriate experience.
