Make a channel on youtube with the new setup?

  • I wanted to make a new youtube account and make a channel to post videos to. But new google plus **** has confused the hell out of me. I went to youtube.com and tried to make an account but It looks only I made somekind of a gmail/google plus hybrid account because it gave me an email address and went I post a comment it says Josh Pierce commented (the first and last name I entered) All I wanted to do was set that Josh Pierce name to some YouTube name I choose. And that name I comment with should be tied to my channel.

    you can't when you sign up with google+, your first and last name will be displayed in all google services you sign up for, youtube included you can still set a username in the URL of ur channel, but in the comments your name will be the same but if you go to the settings http://www.youtube.com/account_manage in "channel settings" you will see "Rename channel with channel URL and hide the Google Profile information associated with it." that might work
