I bought something on eBay that smells like smoke, what do I do?
-
I bought a computer off eBay from a buyer who never said it came from a smoking environment. It was listed as is and I was fine with that because it's an older computer. This thing CLEARLY smells like smoke, and with that smell, I don't want it. The amount of work it will take to get the smell out of each piece of the computer would to much. Is there anything I can do? I contacted the seller, and he says it was bought at a county auction, and that there no signs of it being in a smoking environment. The moment I opened the package, you could smell the smoke, so it's impossible for him to miss something like that. So am I stuck with this computer, or is there some way I can try and get my money back?

Answer:
It was listed as is so I'm afraid you are stuck with it.

was it advertised as being in a non smoking environment? Was it sold "as is"? Do the math. Open case. Clean all dust and dirt completely(thats where the smoke smell resides)with compressed air Leave open a day or 2 to air out.
Suck it up and clean it? I think the real question is, "Why did I buy a computer off of eBay?"

Okay 1st whenever you buy off ebay just think how they get it to you someone uses it gives it away shoves it in a van then sells it and throws it in a building someone wants it they shove it in a van again and knocks on the door now the most you can do is ring one of there companys up and tell them your problem usually with there crappy service they dont do anything you then have to argue with the man and tell him/her this is a police offence and if you carry on i will call the police
This is why I don't spend anymore than $50 on Ebay, unless it's coming from the actual company itself. You have to be careful, because some can be scams.
Sold "as is". You could open a dispute with eBay but I think you will lose. ~
bring ur computer back to seller
