What is the best hollow body electric guitar under $600?

ESP LTD MH-350 FR Guitar question?

  • Alright so I'm an intermediate player and I want to upgrade from my Bronze series BC Rich Warlock, which is just awful. I played this guitar in the store, and other than the fact that it needed new strings, it was amazing. I would've bought it right there if I had 500 more dollars. I'm just wondering if other people think it's a good guitar. I'm leaning twords this one because I think it's the best one in the 600-700 dollar price range, and because it can produce scorching tones while maintaining a beautiful clean sound. here's the specs: Mahogany body with a quilted maple top 24 jumbo frets EMG active 81 and 85 pickups (AMAZING) Licsenced Floyd Rose Special (Not an original, but I can easily change it out to be an original later down the road if the oppurtunity presents itself.) What do you guys think?

    I think you're in love with the ESP LTD MH-350 FR, and if it's the right guitar for you the two of you should be very happy together. I've been playing guitar for 45 years and my taste in guitars is different than yours. For electric guitars my favorite configuration is a solid body fixed bridge (no whammy bar) with twin humbuckers (both passive). As you can see, I like to keep things simple. But the reason there are so many different types of guitars is that there are so many different types of music and guitar players. What works for me isn't right for everyone. I've posted a link to the Guitar Center customer reviews for the ESP LTD MH-350 FR, and it was highly rated. You should probably save up and get one, but as always play it and look it over very carefully before you buy it. Even with the exact same model guitar there can be differences and defects that make a big difference.

Some of my classmates don't like ESP and LTD guitars, but I think they're among the best. A few of my friends have this guitar, and I have to say, it DOES sound amazing. I know you're already leaning toward this one, but let me suggest another one by LTD: the Alexi Laiho signature series. If you don't like V guitars, skip this, but if you do, or are willing to try, check it out. The Alexi-200 is the simplest, but I don't like it. I'll put links to the Alexi-600 and the Alexi. They're pretty much the same thing, but the Alexi has a boost switch for leads.
