Free car park outside Nice, France?

Italian car rentals -Rome, Sienna, and Florence...then France?

  • Hello YA, I am planning a honeymoon and would like your advice/opinion on my itinerary: We will be spending a few nights in Rome. I think we will just take a taxi from the airport to the hotel since there are two of us an we'll have lots of luggage (3weeks worth) On our last day I would like to check out of the hotel put our bags in the car and park the car near the Coloseum while we tour. It looks like there is a garage near there for 15E a day. We may make another stop at the the Villa Borghese they also have parking near by. There doesn't seem to be any rental offices near our hotel by the Trevi Fountain. Is that normal? Do they come and pick you up or do you have to schlep your luggage across town? When we leave Rome we will be heading to this amazing 300yr old monastery about 20min outside Sienna. We could take the train from Rome and then a taxi from the train station but if we went by car we could tour Tuscany while we are there. When we leave Sienna we will be headed into Florence. I think we'll want to leave the car in Florence and take the train to Genoa...then into France (Nice I think) where we may want to rent another car to go into Cannes and Monaco on day trips. Do you think it would be better just to keep the car all the way from Rome to Genoa or should we leave it in Sienna or Florence and switch to the train? Have you ever done something like this? What did it cost you and would you do it again or try something else?

Hi, for Siena and Florence i can suggest you an accommodation to "Palazzo San Lorenzo" at Colle Val d'Elsa because you could easily visit both cities with Tours that hotel organize for its guests. However, you can also discover "Palazzo San Niccolò" in Chianti where you could rent luxury or vintage cars. If you send an email to the hotels the staff will respond you as soon as possible. They are very kind and professional. http://www.palazzosanlorenzo.it/en/proposals/index.php http://www.hotelsanniccolo.com/en/proposals/excursions.php#scooter-auto

In California, maybe 10 or so years ago, there was a car accident where a really young girl had to be airlifted to a hospital to save her life. While in flight, the helicopter had lost power, crashed, and everyone on board had died. It's weird how events like that happen.
