How do you download a Flickr photo?

How do I code or set restrictions on downloading my photos on flickr?

  • Answer:

If you set the photo as "Friends and Family" then only those whom you have nominated as F&F will be able to see the photo. You do that by going to You => Your Account - Privacy & Permissions Under "Defaults for new uploads" you need to edit "Who will be able to see, comment on, add notes, or add people" If you already have photos uploaded which you want to set to F&F then go to "Organise & Create" Select the photos by dragging them into the central window. Select Permissions - Who can see, comment, tag. Select "Private", then add "Family/Friends". If you add the photo to a group then any member of the group will be able to see the photo. Alternatively, you can set your account to disable downloading of your original images. Do this by going to You => Your Account - Privacy & Permissions - Who can access your original image files? If you have a free account then no-one (including you) will have access to the originals. If it's a paid (pro) account you can set this to restrict access to the original. Even with a free account you can use this setting to disable right clicking on your photos. Note though that YOU will always be able to right click on your own photos. If you want to check that it is disabled then log oput of your account and then try viewing your pages. There is no way of preventing someone from printing an image - all you can do is make it difficult to download. You could also put a large watermark across your photos, but that tends to spoil the photo for those whom you do wish to see it.
