I wanna visit Ireland someday but how do i overcome my fear of heights being in airplane?

i was born and raised in the united states ever since i was a child i wanted to visit ireland my mother felt the same way i'm 25, and my other siblings are grown up now as well. we was talking about going on a mother - daughter vacation there and learn more about our ancestry and heritage the only problem is i never been on a plane before and afraid of heights, my mother said it's not bad she use to travel with her foster parents all the time but i don't wanna embarrass her. how do i overcome my fear of heights to go there?

If you want to get somewhere you have to bite the bullet, the few times i have flown i sat by the wing. It helped being able to see the wings bank as the plane banked, i had to the security men took my parachute away.

You haven't been on a plane before, so you could start being acquainted. Take a short journey somewhere. Inside a plane, I am not aware of the heights outside, only of my present environment. I have a much greater fear of heights standing on top of a ladder (simply can't do that) than I do inside a plane. I view my journey as being much the same as going somewhere by bus or train. I get on at one point and get off at another. Indeed, the amount of space available to me is similar to on a train journey. Hypnosis or relaxing tapes might help, though I haven't needed them.

try abseilinf then parachute jumps. that will cure it.
Get a boat instead. It'll only take about 4 weeks.

Hello I think in the case of phobias like this, its best to just face the fear. get on the plane. wear headfones, watch a movie on the plane, listen to music. sleep ! relax.

Well I can tell you right now, I'm the same way, I'm terrified of heights, and I hate the feeling of the plane crashing at any moment, but the thing is, that planes are supposedly safer than cars which kind of says a lot. But what I would do, is 1. Close the curtain until your way up in the air and can't see land, all you'll see is cloud so that it wont be scary. 2. Put in some music to distract yourself from thinking too much about the plane ride. 3. Take a nice relaxing sleep and before you know it you'll already be in Ireland without any embarrassment.
