    Some of the areas in the Lower Northeast are getting worse (though they still aren't terrible), but the Upper Northeast is still nice. I'd say it's better than most of the Northwest. South Philly is also pretty diverse, and the areas are pretty good except for Point Breeze. I hope this information was very helpful.

A good diverse neighborhood that I would consider safe, clean, and definitely with nice architecture, would be Chestnut Hill. Germantown Ave (in that section) is lovely to take a walk in on a Summer evening. Also, there are a number of restaurants with outdoor seating. There's a community theater. And there's an entrance into Pennypack park.

Some parts of the northeast are nice but others aren't that great. Places near the Roosevelt Boulevard have high rates of traffic accidents so they may not be safe for a family. South Philly is getting nice nowadays. Also, the same with Northern Liberties (I would pick here!). Good luck finding a place!
