What type if BMX bike should I get?

  • This question is really 3/ 1. Which Type of BMX bike should I get? 2. Based on What I want, how much will it cost? 3. Bikes that you think I should get, based on what I want. I know there are 4 main types of BMX bikes:Dirt/Ramp, Street, Racing, and Flatland. I will ride my bike on the road, doing some small tricks ( little bunny hops, jumping on and off of curbs, etc.) 5 days a week, and will go to a BMX park 1-2 times a month. It needs to go up to at least 20 mph, but preferably over 25. For size, I am 5 feet 1 inch, and I want it to last at least until 5 feet 6 inches. I will need to be able to take it off road (grass) every now and then to go around people. it should have very good durability. On my mountain bike, if i take it 15 mph, and try to make it onto a curb, it has a 90% chance of stopping, flipping over, and making me fall. On this bike, If I ride it 15mph into a curb, it should easily and naturally jump over it, without making me jump. I want it to have a handlebar that can do a 360 degree spin, and have springs. It should be able to stop quickly, and not weigh too much in case I wipe out. So, with that in mind, can you please answer the 3 questions?

Its a good way to bend the rim or snap the frame. Do a J-hop. 6) a bike goes as fast as you can pedal it, it doesnt pedal itself. 7) no handlebars have springs. 8)Get a 4130 chromoly bike and its durable as long as you arent dropping it twenty feet. 9) brakes on bikes work as long as you tune and maintain them.

1. Amber bikes are the best for the price. WeThePeople and Sunday's top end models are the best. 2. $450-1000. 3. Any Amber bike over $1500. No bike goes over curbs "naturally." That is physically impossible. Just hop over it. No real BMX bikes have springs. That's a mountain bike thing. If you want it to stop quickly but still want a gyro, you'll need to be really good at setting up your brakes.
