  • Answer:

Well since you don't say how much money you have to work with or anything of that nature. As far as actual living expenses to move into a place you are going to need first and last months rent+deposit, which in most cases is a months rent. You will need to pay for electric, possibly gas and water. Sometimes trash is included depending on where you rent. If you want any sort of entertainment like TV or internet, you will need to call and get that set up. There will be a set-up fee, this can range from $50-500, it really just depends. Majority of rentals come with a stove and refrigerator, so yes you will need food, whatever you want to buy. As for actual items, a bed, a table to eat at, chairs, a couch, TV, dishes, laundry baskets or bags, sheets, blankets, eating utensils, shower curtain, curtains, lamps, maybe an end table or coffee table, food trays work as well, pots and pans. Storage containers for leftovers, measuring cup and spoons. Cutting knives, dish soap, kitchen towels, hand towels, bath towels, wash cloths, honestly the list could go on but your going to need the bare essentials, a place to sit, something to cook with and something to eat off of and a place to sleep.

the most important 'thing' is not any object. THE MOST IMPORTANT 'THING' IS THIS ONE SINGLE STATE OF MIND. It's called 'forgiveness'. If you can only remember to forgive each and every thing that needed to be dealt with - before you turn out the lights - and then forget it - you will survive even it you have no furniture. good luck

Were having the same thing happen to us, too! My boyfriend and I are moving from a small house in a poor town to a 2 story house in a big town! Were freaking out! I'm paying utilities and he's paying rent. I'd say definately find numbers and call about bills. For electric and water/sewage, they always have a deposit that equil's 2 months rent. That's what I've learnd, anyway. It may be different where your moving to. Bring the basics. A bed, a couch and a tv (even if you just get netflix, which is the cheaper alternative to channels), you "technically don't need a table and chairs" in the kitchen 'cause most families just eat in the living room nowadays. For the kitchen, a microwave does wonders for starting families! And even if it's only a few, some bowls, plates, and silverware. Trust me- styrophome and plastic stuff isn't the way to go. You end up buying more so you don't save anything.
