Can i sue my former jr college for student loans?
-
In 2008 i graduated from a local and semi national college (small college) for massage therapy. While we were in clinlc the topic of the national board exam came up and me and a few other students were worried about our background reports and if we would be able to take the test. We (the worried students) was advised to go downtown to get a copy of our background reports so the director of the massage therapy program can take a look so we can know if we would be allowed to take the test. I followed these steps and was told that the small charge on my record would not stop me. Well i graduated and walked across the stage proudly. Months had passed and i never got the info to take the test. I called the school and once again spoke with the director of massage therapy and she gave me a number to talk with the national board (massage therapy) i called and was told that i could not take the test because of the charge on my record. This charge has never stopped me in my life for anything, i have gotten city jobs a house from a nationally known rental agency. Now im stuck with $12k in debt with student loans and i can never use my diploma. Can i sue the school for my student loans? For more detailed info or if you have questions or if you would like to take on this case please contact me at [email protected] It is so funny how people can judge you by what you type. for a lot of folks info the college i went to is a very real college (Kaplan University). When I took massage therapy I wanted the whole nine so that i could one day open a SPA. (some people are sick). and your are right it is my life but you can not blame me for what i do not know encourage me to gain wisdom

Answer:
you are surprised about this when you chose "massage therapy" as your focus? LOL Did you look in the newspaper and see how many folks are hiring "massage therapist" before you actually enrolled in this field? Your choice, your consequence. No, you can't sue anyone. But I will give you a tip of worldly advise to take with you... if you sit around and "WAIT" for people to do things for you... like mail things, send you information, whatever... you will never be more than what you are now. It's YOUR life and you need to take a bit of responsibility and do things for yourself. Snort!!

You probably can't sue them , but who knows. Contact a lawyer. Unfortunately, You are responsible for knowing what the laws are for licensing. You should also report the school to your massage state board. Some states allow you to take another test called the MBLeX that is offered by the Federation of massage state boards. Maybe you could take that exam or you could move to a state where they don't have any license requirements yet. If a state doesn't have any licensing requirements, there might be local city laws and regulations that you have to abide by.
