  ok renaissance art has more depth- it's 3D, uses shadows and perspective more (perspective is when, for example, you draw a table with angled lines to make it look 3D rather that straight lines- then it looks like everything should fall off the table....) renaissance art also focuses more on the induvidiual, their feelings and their struggles. You'll find that authors also begin to focus on feelings in literature. renaissance art depicts more humanistic subjects than the middle ages did, the backgrounds are also more worldly than they had been in the middle ages. Middle ages art is usually flat and religiously related. It's pretty impersonal and symbolic, and other-worldly. also, the scale of Middle ages paintings is strange. The most important person (usually the most powerful religious figure) is the largest, and so on.
