What is the most important thing in a relationship?

What is the right thing to do if a person cannot stay faithful in a long distance relationship?

  • Me and my s/o have been together for a year and a half now, and are both in our mid-20s. We are currently in a long distance relationship while I am finishing school. The plan is that when I graduate next year, I'll move to be with him. However, some things have happened that have led me to believe that he can't stay faithful. First, he broke up with me for a while saying that he isn't being fair to me, but he knows he wants to marry me in 2-years. He blamed a lot of it on me saying that if I would've just stayed with him this wouldn't have happened. We still talked everyday, but he said he can't give me a "real relationship" until I move to where he is. We still acted like we were dating with how much we talked and still visiting. A few months ago, he decided to be in a official committed relationship with me and I thought we had worked through everything, but now he is complaining about how h*rny he is all the time. We see each other once every 2 months or so. While I have no proof, I have a feeling he may have had a hard time staying faithful which is why the "break" happened for a little while. However, I don't doubt that he loves me and that I'm who he wants in the end. Sometimes he makes off-handed jokes that the more people I'd let him sleep with the bigger the rock, but to just know they're just sl*ts. However, I think it's a joke. He also has a history of having several partners at once and many casual relationships. To him s*x is just a physical act. It makes me feel really bad that I'm in school and he is practically dying from a dry spell and I'm not there to meet his needs. I love him and really want to be with him in the end too, and I know he doesn't want to cheat on me either and I'm who he wants to marry. So what should he do?? What should I do?? What is the right thing for both of us to do?

You break up and move on. If he really wanted to be with you a life time he would be able to control himself. He doesn't, can't and won't. Move on. You'll be happier in the long run without this man in your life. He's a liar, a cheat, and a manipulator.

Change "cannot" to "will not" and then decide what you think you want yourself to be treated like in life. He is not the one for you.

If you put up with his crap now he will always find a reason to justify being unfaithful to you.

Talk about it and sort it out xxxxxx or see a relationship councilor and if that doesn't work then you'll have to brake up. :) xxxxxxxxxxxx

The right thing to do is have an open relationship for now until you guys can be together & committed to one another. Both of you should be free to date & do as you please since youre not dating or seeing one another regularly.
