How to access the value of a field of the current node in Drupal?

Can someone answer my AIS question please...An advantage of default value for an Access data field is that?

    Assures that the data in all records will be exactly the same for that field Yes Eliminates data redundancy Absolutely not Helps create subsequent queries on that field Yes (we call it the crutch for that reason) Saves typing, and probably errors Not really Surrogate keys (things that have no real life relation to the data) are convenient but basically disobeys the basic concept of normal form. Example... 1 | Todd | database engineer 2 | Todd | database engineer If you did a select based on work type, you'll get two entries that are supposedly unique. I've seen this happen all the time. The reason why we use this cryptic style in some databases is mostly the third reason, that being to make queries easier. It's a complete cop out and databases shouldn't be designed that way. Read some of Celko's work to see why.
