Whats it like to be a wife to a marine?

Answer:
any wife to a man in the military is going to be very hard for the wife... they have to go on missions, trainings, and overseas all the time, and if they go overseas, they could be gone for months to years! the military doesn't care if your child is about to be born, or your getting married or anything. they can request to get some time off, but they can say no. i have some friends right now that are pregnant and the father won't get to see the birth of his child and won't even get to come home until the baby is 6 months old. they can also make you guys move to another state. you can have a real wedding though. sucks really bad

My husband is getting out in August and I'm super excited to end this chapter of our lives. Sure we got to live in some pretty cool places but we never got to explore the areas much cause of his training and deployments. He is infantry so I knew when I married him that it was going to be like that. You can have any wedding you want the only issue might be finding a good time. Make some good TRUSTWORTHY friends, I personally don't like to make friends or socialize with other military wives. I have a lot of issues with them, but I'm sure some are decent. It's a whirlwind life that isn't for everyone, but I think my husband and I are much stronger. Absence really did make our hearts grow fonder! =)

I am a wife to a Captain in the Marine Corps. He will be getting out in a few months and I will miss it dearly. Yes there were weeks of training, yes he was deployed for 7 months, yes he missed the birth of his son (our second child), etc. but it has strengthened who we are as a couple. If you are the time to victimize and feel sorry for yourself then it's not for you. If you can be strong and see that he is being unselfish for the greater good then you will be fine. I don't regret it a bit, but I knew what WE were signing up for and I mentally/spiritually prepared for it. BTW, you can have whatever wedding you want! Thank your potential future husband...it's a free country! Semper Fi.

You can have any wedding you want. However, if he is in the service, he may be overseas for a year or so at a time, and yeah he might miss birthdays, and Christmases and stuff. He's serving the country.
