My ex wife wanted me to sign papers in family court that would give me sole custody if i absolve her from child support for future.. So the paper would have said that the father absolves mother from any financel support for the future..So does this mean forever or can i get it if i need it in the future to help with kids??

Heck, why not show those papers to your attorney? The fact that she cares so little for her child that she is willing to trade full custody for money means that she is possibly an unfit mother. Maybe you can get full custody AND child support.

Would be "supposed" to mean forever. However, depending on where you live...that might be impossible to have a judge sign off on. Where I'm from, it's actually illegal to do that. The custodial parent HAS to have some form of child support (even if it's just an amount of 25$ per month) or the possibility to get child support in the future if the paying parent's situation changes. So around here, judges refuse to signs that kind of stuff, because it's about 95% of the time a decision made under duress, for exactly the same reason you stated. "If you want to have sole custody, sign that I will never have to pay child support ever in this lifetime"... Judges don't like that very much usually. Also... Custody papers can get changed, when situations changes. So unless she gives up parental rights, it's not very wise to sign that. Because in a few years, she could go back and request a change of custody, for whatever reason. Same can be said for child support -- it can always be modified.

Yes. Sign it and walk away. Can you provide an example of the language in the contract for other men to use to get out of this ridiculous obligation? Also what state are you in? Let us know if the court takes it.
