Jobs in the music industry? What qualifications do I need?

Okay so I have been asked to try and find some career paths. They said to focus on the things you enjoy. I'm not interested in money, all I need is a salary that will sustain me, a rent/mortgage and possibly a child. Anyway I like Art & Design, Product Design Technology and I love music. I would love to do something a long the music industry. Is there any jobs that involve the music industry other than being an artist/band? I don't want to be a hairdresser, caterer, etc. I love finding new music and going to see live bands. I love the Radio, etc. My mother told me it is hard work and said ''dream on.'' If these ideas are far from possible I would love to travel the world, be a photographer on cruise ships and then in my late 20's I would like to be...a....ermmm....I really don't know.
