When it asks for the OS choose Windows 95 and point it to your source disk. You may have issues with Windows 95 on CPUs faster than 2.1Ghz though ... http://www.msfn.org/board/topic/141402-windows-95-21ghz-cpu-limit-broken/ So it might be a small battle. :)

Sounds Plausible

LOVE my MS VPC 2007 ... Not too familiar with EXACTLY Virtual PC in newer than Vista (built into Win7) ,,, but use it myself under Vista and XP Pro to run WinME. Still own Win95b and Win98SE discs too btw). Easy answer = yes ... for more details read below ... (minor note, VPC software emulates the slower processor, so faster than 2.1Ghz shouldn't matter). A few details to REMEMBER about Win95 while setting up the Virtual machine ; The original release of Win95 didn't support USB, so don't count on being able to mount any media with it for files/data/printers/etc, even though the ports are patchable to the VPC machine. Win95b worked with USB 1.0. The original release of W95 also didn't support harddrives formatted in anything but FAT16/32, and You needed a seperate DOS disk to prep/format the drive and install W95 with. (You can get one from www.bootdisk.com, WinME incorporated DOS into the CD). The partition size was limited not just by W95/version but also by the rules for the FAT type, some versions allowed drives up to 8Gbs, while others allowed partitions up to 20Gbs (W98/ME?). if you're just looking to play around and maybe install a few old floppy-disk games for a while, You should be MORE than covered with 4Gbs of FAT32 - W95 took about 65Megs, and ME took about 550Megs COMPLETE. You can prob'ly find lots of copies of the old versions for like $5.00 with 50 game disks on Craigslist most days btw, and maybe even a whole DVD with the Windows imaged and game ISO/img files to make the floppies from all on 1 disc (legal if they destroy the original discs/systems attached to the regcodes). Final mention - There are SO many floppy-sized Win16/32 well-coded apps available out there right now that I'm hoping to find a 1Ghz laptop with a 10gb HDrv and homebuild a tablet-eater someday (for fun). G'Luck!!
