Health problems, need weight loss advice please!?

  • I'm 16 and a sophmore in HS. I played football but due to problems with my coach, I won't be playing the next couple years. I'd play soccer or lacrosse but I feel I'm too overweight and too slow and too out of shape to run in either of those sports. I'm 5'8'' and 200 pounds. My mile time is horrible, about 9-10 minutes. I can't do a pull-up, can do sit-ups but not more than 100, I also can't really do that many push-ups. I canceled my gym membership because it was getting to be too much money so I have to do calisthenics at home and sometimes use my barbell or curling bar or dumbbells (15 and 30 pounds, 2 of each). I don't take lunch to school, I buy. My day is usually: 6:15 Eat healthy cereal for breakfast. 9:45 Eat a meal replacement bar or protein bar or sometimes nothing as a snack. 12:30 Eat my school lunch which isn't really that healthy. Milk, main dish (like cheesesteak or a bagel or cheeseburger), bag of chips. 2:30ish Eat a healthy snack sometimes, sometimes a little unhealthier but I can't help it when there's no fruit in the house. Also at this time, I do my workout like chest, curls, triceps, legs and some at home calisthenics and "cardio" type deal. 5:00 Eat dinner that my mom cooks. Sometimes I question the healthyness of the food (like fried chicken or ordering pizza) but again, can't really help that unless you have suggestions. 8:30ish Eat a snack like a little bit of Chex Mix or something. Now I know I'm overweight and need to get into shape. I have a little stomach, man boobs ( :( ), and back hair. << can't help that >> I would like to know what you guys think would help if I did but I'm starting to get desperate. I don't like running and can't really run around this area, but when we move into a new house hopefully I will be able to. I don't go outside much either, there's nobody and nothing to do really. If you guys can give me advice on how to get rid of my weight and unhealthy eating problems (and back hair lol, I heard nair works good) please post. I'm open to any NON TROLLING advice and I thank you for your suggestions.

  • Answer:

high protien, low carbs, daily exercise, NO JUNK FOOD EVER EVER EVER. vegetables and fruits in small doses. lots of cardio, but start slow and work your way up to intense. Try to make it fun, like riding a bike or jogging with friends or while listening to ur fave music. swimming is also very very good. shreds the weight right off you and is easy on your joints, which you big guys need to watch out for, especially in the knees which i'm sure foot ball and lacrosse have already done damage to. the biggest factor to make a difference is you, and your determination, willpower, and faith to your regiment. don't quit after just a few days or weeks, stick to it for a year and by then it will be second nature to you and you will do it for life.

Have a full glass of water before eating, and leave 1/4 of the food on your plate. My husband lost 60lbs in a year doing it. All he drinks is Crystal Light Iced Tea and Water and he snacks on Pretzel Rods for a snack. It could work for you too. You could also try a Nutritionist. Good Luck! Hope it works out well for you, and your health!
