What do you think about medical transcription?Is it a career based course?

It is weird to say but I am glad you are frustrated with the doctors in your training. I am glad because that means that the course you are taking is one that uses real doctor dictation and that is the best way to prepare for the job. In real life, that is how doctors dictate. (Some courses use fake dictation which is not realistic!) Anyway, as far as pay, here is some data for you: Medical transcriptionists are usually paid on a production basis- either by line, word, or record typed. According to the US Department of Labor’s Occupational Handbook, “Wage-and-salary medical transcriptionists had median hourly wages of $15.41 in May 2008. The middle 50% earned between $13.02 and $18.55 and the highest 10% earned more than $21.81.” I always tell people to look at job openings in your area (or with the companies you wish to apply with once you complete your course- since MTs work from home) and see what they are offering to get an idea of what to expect for pay.
