Facebook virus?

Facebook virus or is it from my computer?

  • A while back i was watching a tv show online and this banner came up in the place of the player and said i had to download something called codec - v i think or code-c to watch the video , i clicked it like a noob and it turned out to be trojan / virus because i couldn't get rid of it and it didnt even work ... I then restored my computer to an earlier date and the program disappeared ..a few days later i go on facebook and find out it liked 5 pages on its own , all in a weird language and one of them has the name virus , then my facebook starts posting random things advertising the link along with the name virus ... i tried it on my brothers facebook and same thing ! only when i use it from my computer does this happen , if im on another computer this doesn't happen ! What is the problem ? i take it my computer has a trojan/virus which is messing around with my facebook ? as this doesn't happen if i use other computers! how to fix this problem ? i used microsoft essential security and it doesnt detect anything ?

Apparently when that pop up came (with a virus) it automatically made you like those pages (of their own, which is a scam) I would be more sure if you were logged in in that same time you were watching the movie. But what you can do now is unlike those pages and do NOT go on that website again to prevent getting viruses/trojan again. And get a nice virus scanner program to protect your computer.

get some proper virus protection and run a scan with that. a virus you download cant affect the facebook servers but it can cause some trouble with your computer. and please, never click banners on websites unless they're reputable. sites that let you "watch many movie online free right now no trick!!!" are riddled with rubbish like viruses etc
