What is this charge for traffic ticket?

Traffic ticket.. what to do?

  • okay so im 17 and got a ticket i was speeding but the officer reduced it to a failure to obey traffic control device. i went to court last night and the judge read me what my ticket was for and asked me if i wanted an attouney and i said no, then he asked if i wanted a supporting depositon for the ticket and i said no then he asked me if i wanted a trial and i said no i would just like talk to the da and he said i can tell by the location of this ticket that the officer has already reduced it and i said yes i would just like to talk to the da, then the judge got very rude and yelled at me and said this court will not reduce it anymore but you can talk to a da on april 16th and gave me a slip of paper with the meeting date, and then he said i would be going to trail and if the officer wanted he can charge me with the speeding. and i never pled anything. all i said was i wanted to talk to the da. i do not want to go to trail and i know i am guilty, i have no problem paying the fines i just dont want to get my licence taken away cause my licence is a class dj, i will be 18 in 10 days, i have 3 jobs and i get good grades in school, i just want to get the ticket reduced to a non moving violaton to prevent the loss of my licene, and also i dont want my parents finding out.. will any thing get mailed to my house since the judge already gave me a paper with the next day to come to court to talk to the da?

It's not time to grow up, the girl's only 17 for heaven's sake. It's good that in this day and age that a young GIRL has the respect for her parents not to want them to know she has let them down. You didn't even answer her question, she wants help, not criticism. They will most probably send you mail and unless they open your mail for you, you can just tell your parents it's junk mail or a better paid job you applied for so you don't have to work 3 different jobs. When you go to trial, look really sorry because the judges do pass sentence based on all aspects of the crime, including how sorry the person on trial appears to be. Tell them the situation you are in with the 3 jobs and anything else that might falter should you lose your license.
