What is Connection-Specific DNS Suffix?

I can't get my dns numbers in CMD?

  • So i went into my command prompt because I needed to forward my ports so I could host a blockland server, and when I used the ipconfig command, i was able to get my ip, default gateway etc, but I got these error messages about my dns numbers. Here is what the errors said Tunnel Adapter isatap.ph.cox.net Media state ----------------- : Media disconnected Connection specific DNS Suffix .:* And then 3 more error messages similar to the one mentioned, all saying the media was disconnected.

  • Answer:

The isatap interface is a tunneling pseudointerface for the transition to IPv6. The chances are you don't need to worry about it and it has been left unconfigured simply because you are not using it. If you are not having any actual problems I wouldn't worry about it. What do "ipconfig /all" and "route print" say?
