Anybody been to ITT TECH?

Anyone attending nursing program at ITT Tech?

• I was just curious if anyone was in the same position that I am in. I attend ITT Tech for their ASN program in nursing. Where do I even begin?? I attend the Fort Wayne Indiana campus. They have changed their grading scale multiple times. I am now getting ready to re-take a class because they failed me by one percentage point. I received a 79% percent and needed an 80. I was not able to see how I was doing in the class until the 8th week. The turn over-rate of their employees is insane. I have had 2 instructors that quit mid-quarter sending that class into a chaotic frenzy. My instructor was extremely short-handed. She would lose our papers all the time. After every exam we would receive our grades, only to see them change multiple times. Here's the kicker. When I began at ITT the agreement I signed said that I needed to maintain a 70% in nursing classes to pass. I am 25 years old and trying to put myself through school on my own. I have to work and knew that going into this but I thought that a 70% was not too much to bite off. I should have done my homework on "For-Profit" colleges before signing up. The 79% exceeded the expectations that "school" had laid out in their bullshit "agreement" that I signed. I took this issue along with many others to the nursing chair, Dean, and my instructor. I was told that they were allowed to change whatever they wanted, whenever I wanted and that I signed an agreement, NOT a contract. Really? This is just the tip of the iceberg so I would really like to hear about other ppls experiences. I know that I'm not alone. There is a class-action law-suit in the making here in Fort Wayne. We were working a newspaper columnist but when the school was informed about this we were told to drop the story or we would be expelled. I just don't know what to do. The credits don't transfer and being 2 classes away from graduating I have wracked up way to much debt to make these ppl mad. So I guess they have me right where they want me.

  You really need to get out of there before you rack up $100,000 in debt. Where do I begin . . . I'm a former Financial Aid Administrator with ITT. The scams there are numerous and the finance office is actively involved in many fraudulent practices and lawsuits. Lawsuits brought againsst them be THE FEDERAL GOVERNMENT because they are going into the system (SmartForms) and esigning documents for students just to get the money (loans) rolling in. You need to check and see if you have been applied to any private loans. Loans that interest rates run from 18 to 24%. That's ONE of the scams. Therefore, the whole experience and hundreds of thousands of $$$ was wasted.
