What is a provisional public school?

What proof of residency do you need to get into public school from private school?

  • I'm in high school, I'm 16 years old and going to be a senior next year. We've just found out that my private school is NOT accredited and for such reasons I'm going to go back to public school next year since there are few to no other private schools in my area that border on "good." The administrators of the school have been less than helpful, so I now ask you, fellow internet users...What proof of residency do I need to prove I'm zoned for the school so I can re-enter public high school in Hillsborough county as a senior, which the county made unnecessarily difficult?

  • Answer:

The proof of residency that most schools use is the utility bills with your parents' name on them which shows where they reside. At 16 you cannot establish your own residency unless you an an emancipated minor.
