    Surround sound on a headset is always kind of funky because you've only really got two places the sound can come from,but if you want a "true" surround headset then you should look at the Tritton AX720 or the Tritton AX Pro headset. The AX Pro has multiple speakers in each side for the closest you can get to true surround sound from a headset. Just from experience, I've always felt that surround sound headsets really are more of an "enhanced stereo" than anything. I used a Turtle Beach HPA2 headset before I got the Sony wireless one which had the same multiple speaker setup as the Trittons, and I can't say it actually gave me a better sense of directionality, but your mileage may vary.
