EBay/Paypal question after buying Blackberry Bold... please help?
-
SKIP TO THE BOTTOM FOR THE CORE QUESTIONS, BUT I SUGGEST READING THE STORY TOO IN ORDER TO HELP. I should disclaim now that this is my first time using eBay or Paypal, so bear with me. On Monday, I bought a new phone on eBay as mine is falling apart. I bought a Blackberry Bold, for those of you whom are curious (which is no one, but pretend for me, I'm flipping excited). So the shipping was free, and the price was C 99. I realized it was coming from out of the country (Canada), but I figured my Paypal should be smart enough to pay in their currency or the American equivalent to their currency, and just bought it. It said that the Paypal successfully sent the money to the owner, even though any other page says that the owner hasn't received the money yet (which, according to my dad, just means he hasn't logged on yet... right?). Then Tuesday morning, I logged on to check if it had shipped yet like an obsessed fan girl, and it said under the C 99 price $100.21 (this information was newly updated, and had not been there the day before). I presumed this might be the American conversion to the money. However, when I logged on Paypal to check if they had made changes, the amount remained $99.00 CAD. I presumed CAD stood for 'Cash And Delivery', as the delivery is free, but it could stand for Canadian Currency. Questions~ 1. Does CAD stand for 'Cash And Delivery' or Canadian currency? 2. Did the price of the object change after I bought it? Is that possible? 3. I got free 'International Expedited Shipping'. The package is to come from Canada. When should it be here? 4. If Paypal says they successfully sent the eBay seller money but no other pages on eBay says he's received it, is this an error or has he just not logged on? Thank you all so very much!

Answer:
1. CAD stands for Canadian Dollars. 2. The other price might have been an approximate exchange rate. If you want to see your payment transaction go to ww.paypal.com and log into your account and check the transaction. 3. From Canada can take anywhere from 10-20 days, but should be closer to 10. 4. He must not have sent any response yet. **Keep in mind that you need to be aware of the timeframes for eBay and PayPal's dispute process in case something goes wrong. You have 45 days from the date that you paid to file a dispute if you don't get your Blackberry or if there is a problem with it. Don't let that date pass, even if the seller tells you he's shipped anew one, his house burned down, etc.
