What xbox 360 controller works best with pc?

  • Already have wireless controller as i own an xbox 360, however id like to play games on the go with my laptop. Would i be better to buy a wireless adapter and a play and charge kit, or would i be better to buy a wired controller(does a standard xbox 360 wired controller work seamlessly with pc?)? Is there any issues getting any of them to work?

    All the wired controllers including madcats, razr, etc. work except for the launch date microsoft wired controllers. (they had a small modification to the ground sleeve that prevented them from plugging in to regular usb ports. Microsoft quickly realized this was a mistake.) Wireless controllers with a play n charge cable do NOT work. Wireless receiver for windows works great with wireless controllers. It is supposed to work with the official microsoft wireless headset as well but i have not tested that.

As far as I know, Micro$oft stopped selling the wireless adapter for the Xbox 360 controllers. So you will be better off buying a wired controller. And yes, they work perfectly with Windows. Actually, a lot of games have native support for them now (Fallout 3 and New Vegas, pretty much all GFWL titles).
