Do chicken tumors get infested with maggots?

  • I have a chicken and it was found in the woods. It was very week and when my parents picked it up they found a pile of maggots under it and brought it home. My mom has been washing it, and she's trying to get the maggots off. She noticed that there was a black growth just beneath its bottom. That is where the maggots are coming in and out of. Could it be a tumor? If so what should we do to help it survive?

    1) Take it to the vet. 2) It could be a tumor, it could be an egg trapped inside the body, it could be an abscess. 3) Take it to a VET!! Or kill it. Don't let it suffer and play amateur vet by asking people in the internet what to do.
